My mother, Mrs. Celina Barretto, from the Our Lady of Fatima Community (St. Joseph Church, Mira Road), has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) – a rapidly progressing and aggressive form of blood cancer. She is currently admitted to Criticare Asia Hospital, Malad, in a critical condition, requiring continuous ICU care, IV chemotherapy, and multiple blood and platelet transfusions.

Her WBC and platelet levels are dangerously low, putting her at severe risk of infections and internal bleeding. Managing her cancer has become even more challenging because she is also battling Diabetes, Hypothyroidism, and Dyslipidemia, all of which demand constant monitoring and specialized care.

Over the past year, my mother has been admitted to several hospitals as her health kept worsening. As a family, we have already spent ₹8–9 lakhs on her treatment and, in desperation, have even had to sell our house in Goa to keep her medical care going. Despite all this, the fight ahead is long and financially overwhelming.

Doctors have estimated that the next one month alone will cost around ₹10 lakhs, covering ICU charges, chemotherapy, transfusions, medications, and essential supportive care. We are struggling to meet these escalating medical expenses.

On behalf of my entire family, I humbly appeal for your help. Your generosity can give my mother a real chance at survival and the strength to continue her treatment. Any contribution, small or big – will make a meaningful difference.
